It's a Boy!!!

So we went to my OB appointment today and were talking to the Dr about pregnancy things. I had voiced a concern about Jasmin our 60# lab mix jumping on my stomach Sunday morning when she tried to get into bed with me. He immediately pulled out the heart tone monitor and the baby sounded really good. He then asked if we had done the genetic testing since the baby was IVF and told him no, which he replied"oh so you don't know the sex yet" that's when I mentioned we would like to know now if we could and he said sure if his tech had the time and the baby was in the right position. Well the tech had time and the baby was letting it all hang out. The funny part was when she thought she was seeing a penis but wanted to make sure it wasn't the umbilical cord and started to switch over he moved, well he moved enough that looking right at us was well.......as she put it quite a boy!! Adam was grinning from ear to ear and giving a big thumbs up. She tried to take a pic at that exact moment but he decided to move again. We got a pic of his"male parts" as best we could, but not like what he showed us the first time around. I think he realized he had an audience :)

No more TPS

So Adam has officially graduated and we are now enjoying some well deserved quality time together. Yesterday was our 4Th wedding anniversary and we went out to lunch and had a nice time. We were going to go away for a few days but had not made any plans so just decided to stay here and I am glad we did. The space shuttle landed here this afternoon so we went out to the hill and watched it orbit through, make two very loud booms and then lad on the lake bed and cast out it's parachute. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. I literally got chill bumps from just watching it. I came through so fast...I had no idea!

Adam doesn't have to start his new job at the 416Th test wing until July9Th so we are just doing nothing and everything at the same time. I have an Ob appointment on Tuesday and he will be able to go with me this time. I am going to try and convince the Dr to do the ultrasound early to see what the sex is since I will be going to Florida next month for a baby shower. Keep your fingers crossed that they will do one :)

Graduation is finally here

The offical countdown has begun and we are now 2 days from graduation!!!! YEAH!!! I don't think I could be more happier. I am looking forward to having my husband back and actually being able to carry on a conversation with him and he respond with more than one word. I never thought my husband could be stressed out, but he can and TPS has done it. It has been a long hard year and it feels great that we are finally done and can now party and enjoy family visiting and take a well deserved vacation before he goes back to work and I get huge. Keep checking back with us for more baby updates and pics from graduation night.

Update on little Quick

So the pregnancy roller coaster has been up and down for me a lot lately. I have my good days and then I have some pretty bad days that consist of puking in the bathroom sink. I never thought brushing my teeth would be such a task at times. We went to see the OB yesterday and got to see our little one again, which I sure didn't mind. I just love looking at this baby and am amazed every time I see him/her at how developed it is. The NP said that everything looked good and was developed so I had nothing to worry about. She also made a comment on how beautiful it's head was, I guess she knows what she's looking at :P. Adam had to be at work so he missed the appointment but I showed him the US pic as soon as I got home. He said he liked the other ones better because you could see the baby better. It's amazing how better the clarity is with the vaginal US versus the abdominal ones, It doesn't matter to me because I still got to see the little one and I have to admit it's going to be one cute baby!!

Baby Quick

So I went for my ultrasound today and this baby is doing great!!! He/She was just a moving and shaking it's arms and legs at us. We were able to see the blood flowing through it's body and into the brain(which was just amazing) and since everything is looking so good I have been released to my OB/GYN and my first appointment is May 29th. It makes me feel so relieved that things are going so well and that the baby is ok and healthy with a strong heartbeat. Now I just can't wait until we know what it is! That will be such an exciting day. Anyone want to start guessing?

Heartbeat has been about 150 :)

Husbandless again

Adam left today for Phoenix and then to Denver this weekend to fly United Airlines simulators. We are finally at the last stretch of school for him and then we will be celebrating with family and friends that A year of HELL is finally over. Between Graduation RSVP and baby stuff my life is very busy these days. I am finally starting to feel a little better and can actually eat again. I am not complaining thought because it felt good to loose 10Pd's or so. I go back to the Dr tomorrow for a follow-up ultrasound and we will get video this time. It makes me sad that Adam is going to miss it because it won't look like a cashew nut and will actually resemble a baby. I will upload photos from tomorrow for all to see.

Baby Quick's Debut

We had our first ultrasound today and things look really good. My Dr only found one sac and we could see the heart beating and were also able to hear it. It was the most amazing thing ever!!! I go back on the 15th for another ultrasound to see if we have two heartbeats or not :) identical twins!! We are both so excited that everything looks really good and the heartbeat we heard was very strong. It's hard to See the little guy but we have a pic anyways!!! :)

Pregnancy feelings

So I am now at 6wks and have been feeling pretty good lately. I tend to have my morning sickness in the afternoon/evenings and not in the am. I have no appetite at all and right now the only things that sounds good to me are grilled cheese sandwiches. We go for or first ultrasound on may 1st and that is when we will know how many we are having. I had my first pregnancy dream last night and we were having triplets. I wonder if it was a dream or a nightmare!! :) Three would completely change everything, new car , three cribs, stroller cars eats etc...... at least I have found out there is a large multiples community on this base(go figure).

It happened

As most of you already know we found out yesterday that the Invitro worked and we are pregnant! Both of us are just over the moon right now with happiness. I have to go back on Thursday for more labs to make sure things are doing what they are suppose to do and then I will have an ultrasound to see how many took in another week or so :) We'll keep everyone informed on how fast the Quick family is growing out here.

InVitro completed

Just a little update on what is going on with us here. I had my egg retrieval on Wednesday the 21st and they harvested 14 eggs. Out of the 14 we had 11 good ones. Then 8 fertilized and from the 8 we had 6 that started to divide and grow. Saturday the 24th we had 3 embryos transfered back in. One was at 8 cells the second one was at 7 cells and the third one was at 6 cells. They performed assisted hatching to all three of then and we even had the chance to look at them in the incubator(same as a premature baby) through a microscope before they inserted them back. i have felt pretty good and am trying to just take it easy now. I go back to La this Thursday for labs to check my hormones and then again on April 5th for the pregnancy test. We are keeping all our fingers and toes crossed that we will hear little feet soon :) As for the three they implanted yesterday here is their first debut. The remaining three are still growing and if they continue then we will have them stored for future use.

Letting loose in Vegas

I finally uploaded the pictures from Vegas with my mom. We had a blast!!!

The wizard is making me angry

It seems like since the last time I posted anything all I have done is drive back and forth to LA to see the Dr, wait a minute that is all I have done since then. It seems like just when things are looking great they start me on another hormone injection. Now I am up to three different shots a night. Adam keeps telling me to keep my eye on the prize. Well it's kinda hard to do that when you are so doped up on hormones that you feel like at any moment you could just burst into flames. Maybe I am the cause of all the recent wildfires here in California :) My mom flew in last week and I picked her up in Las Vegas. We had such a great time. we stayed at the Venetian and went to a show before coming home. I definately needed a little girl time and to just get away even if it was only for one night. I will post the pics when I get them loaded.

All in a days work

I thought everyone would enjoy some pics of Adam in the jets. He is the one in the backseat of the plane collecting all the data. These past 8months have been very busy for him and even though we are on the downward slop it seems like he just keeps getting busier and busier. I know we both are looking forward to June 9, 2007.

Disneyland

Well we had a great time at Disneyland this weekend. The parks were extremely busy and we waited about an hour for some of the rides but it was nice to have some one on one time with my husband( I had forgotten what that was)and act like kids again. we visited disneyland park on Friday and then went to California adventures on Saturday. We were hoping that California Adventures wouldn't be very busy but the other park was so packed because of the holiday that people didn't have anywhere else to go. Hopefully our little break away from base and everyone will help get us through the next 3 1/2 months.

Well as most of you all know I went on the Price is Right back in October and won $10,000 dollars and $1,080 worth of professional cookware. Well my cookware and money finally came YEA!!!! and so of course I took a picture of the check :) It was so unreal for a check that large to just come in the mail. No signature or anything(can you believe that!!) just left in the mailbox for anyone to take. I guess it's a good thing we live out in middle of nowhere and don't have the risk of anything being stolen.

Love those California winters!!!

Thought I would share with all our friends and family in the north how warm our weather has been out here lately. We have had our share of cold days but nothing like our past winters in Dayton. Sometimes I miss it when I see news footage of the snow, then I come back to reality and slip on my flip flops and go for a walk in the sunshine :). I definitely love my California winters.

Well as of yesterday it is official, we are staying here at Edwards for another 4yrs. I guess it's a good thing I've come to adjust and like it so much now. Adam will be going to the 416th squadron and is happy he got the job he wanted. He will be doing a lot more flying with the group. Hopefully he will be around a lot and not be deployed like most of the recent graduated class is going to be. I figure we'll cross the bridge when we get to it. As for now I am enjoying the little time I do see of him now and am looking forward to out trip to Disneyland this weekend (just the two of us). I have been in the mood for some roller coasters, and hopefully Adam won't be bored seeing as he rides the ultimate roller coaster everyday.

We're off to see the wizard......

Well we are offically on the road to our next Invitro cycle. I had started some new meds and am feeling OK for the time being. It looks like we will be having the procedure on March 16th give or take a few days. It all depends on how things are developing and my reacting to the hormones. I keep asking Adam if he is ready to put up with "Crazy-Hormonal" Tricia again. Things are a lot tougher right now for him then they were back in May. I have already warned those new people who are around me that things will not be pretty and to not take things personally if I say something to offend them in any way. I figure it's probably a good idea to ask for forgiveness ahead of time :) I am trying to stay calmn and not get my hopes up this time even though it's very very hard. I just feel like we have such a better chance with this new Dr out here, he really knows his stuff and has so much information to give us. Hopefully by the time Adam gradutates in June I will be almost 3months pregnant :) to me that is just an awesome feeling and I can't wait!!

Another week down

Well things have been busy for us here this week. I decided to leave Edwards and go down to Orange county and visit Carries mom and sister. We had a very busy few days with appts and arrands but I had such a good time. It felt good to get away from nowhere and actually get a chance to eat out at a decent restuarant. We went to Urvines finest shopping mall(Spectrum) on wednesday and they had the best Target ever!!!! When I walked in the automatic doors I could have sworn I heard a choir singing. I now know where I will be shopping when i'm down there visiting them.

Adam was going 20miles a minute while I was gone. Some of the other wives knew they must be busy if Adam told me to stay a few more days so they cut their husbands some slack. I think he flew everyday this week and had a monster of a test today. He has now informed me that we will be leaving base tonight(that means i'll be driving so he can drink some beers)I think I might drag him to that new chick flick(Catch and release) :P.

Sunday, January 21, 2007

As most of our family and friends know we have been traveling down the path of Infertility for the past 2yrs. Last May we attempted Invitro fertilization in Dayton Ohio and lost both of the embryos. We were completely devistated and decided to take some time off and focus on our move to Califonia. I have always believed that things happen for a reason and that as much as we want to be in control of everything we just aren't. We have been very fortunate to find a wonderful Dr here in the Los Angeles area and are very excited to get back on the wagon. We have officially started the Invitro process again and are hoping(and crossing fingers and toes) that he will be able to bless our family with a little one very soon.

As for our crazy life, well I have a feeling it's just going to get even crazier and we will take all we can get :)
